Margaret River Cave Tours

The countryside and beaches of the Margaret River region in Western Australia are beautiful to look at, but have you ever wondered does the region looks under the surface? What rare and mysterious wonders lurk beneath its fertile soil?

You can explore Margaret River from a different perspective by joining a Margaret River cave tour to any one or all of the 300 spectacular limestone caves located in the region between Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin.

A map of Margaret River will show CaveWorks a short 15-minute drive from the town of Margaret River. This eco-centre is stocked with fascinating educational displays to teach you all you ever wanted to know about caves, and more. CaveWorks can also set you up with other more adventurous activities like wild caving, abseiling, rock climbing, canoeing and a ride on a flying fox.

The Lake Cave is one of the most beautiful limestone caves buried deep beneath the CaveWorks site in a karri forest. When you enter the cave chamber, prepare to be astounded by the scene before you as stalactites drip from the cave ceiling and are reflected in the lake's surface.

Other stunning caves are Jewel Cave and Mammoth Cave. Jewel Cave is touted as one of the most magnificent show caves in Australia, and you'll understand why as you enter its recess and feel dwarfed by the height of the cave ceiling. Mammoth Cave offers handy MP3 audio aids for self-guided tours.

Most of the Margaret River caves for show are open daily so you don't have an excuse not to visit.
